Treatment plans, prescriptions, and administration
Distinguish planned tasks, prescription items, and performed care.
Platform · Last verified:
A treatment plan records intended work, a prescription records recommended products/instructions, and administration records performed care. They are distinct. This guide covers the web Platform.
Prepare a treatment plan
- Open creation from patient details or Treatment Plans.
- Check the patient/hospitalization context, title, and description.
- Use Overview, Todos, and Signature after creation.
- Use Add Task for work, time, assignment, and relevant product/dose/unit fields. Use Add Series for recurrence, checking start, interval, and duration.
- Review resulting dates and assignees. Editing one occurrence differs from editing the series.
A planned product differs from a selected inventory batch. Creating a plan does not itself consume stock or administer medication.
Perform a task
Open task details. For medication, check the product, actual amount, unit, and administration information. If stock deduction is offered, select the appropriate product/source. After saving, verify the task, administration record, and inventory result.
For diagnostic work, link the correct study. Manually marking a task completed does not prove medication, vital measurement, or consumption. Changing a task's status is not a clinical reversal; inspect the relevant administration/operation flow.
Check measurement time and units for vitals. Reopen the related detail to verify links from a task or hospitalization.
Create and edit a prescription
- Open Create Prescription from the patient or prescription list.
- Check the patient/veterinarian and select products.
- Enter dose, unit, frequency, duration, and instructions from the actual prescription. This guide does not recommend a treatment.
- Create the record and review editable draft items.
- Read item and prescription statuses separately. Dispensing, administration, and stock deduction differ.
Changing a prescription item's status does not automatically consume inventory. Review associated sale/administration records separately. On conflict, reload and review rather than adding the same new items twice.
Documents, signing, and results
Check treatment-plan completion and signing requirements in its Signature tab. When prescription preview/print is available, verify the patient, veterinarian, and items. A scanned paper prescription differs from a structured prescription with product items; viewing an attachment does not create stock operations.
For a three-day follow-up plan, check every task's date and verify today's medication through its administration record. A listed task for tomorrow does not mean it was performed today.
Templates, costs and activation
Complete content, tasks and review in the creation wizard. Recheck patient-specific title, goals, dates and staff after choosing a template. Saving/managing templates does not complete a patient's plan.
Cost estimate has separate Fixed / Range / Estimate, currency and tax-inclusion choices. Check range bounds, additional authorization and optional breakdown. An estimate is neither payment nor sale. Content/cost changes can make consent stale; activation and consent preparation are separate actions.
Single tasks, series and bulk changes
Choose task type, date, assignee and medication/measurement/diagnostic linkage. For recurrence, review start, interval, duration/count and generated dates. Update, extend and discontinue series differ from editing one occurrence. Review scope/results for bulk reassignment/rescheduling.
Medication tasks use actual administration; diagnostics tasks link an eligible result. If medication exists but task linking failed, relink it instead of creating another administration. Inspect actual task state after stock errors. Complete as planned is not the actual data of a clinical measurement.
Signing, cancellation, deletion and PDF
Review tasks/results before signing. A signed plan cannot use ordinary deletion/editing. Completed/cancelled and deleted are distinct outcomes; read action access/state conditions. Verify the correct plan and complete task content in print; reload current data on source-changed/limit errors.
Use format-specific prescriptions. The item-selection shortcut above is for structured prescriptions; paper format uploads documents.
