Rooms, beds and patient placement
Prepare inpatient capacity and verify patient/bed assignments.
Platform · Last verified:
Start in Hospitalization → Rooms. Room capacity, created beds and occupied beds differ; unused capacity is not an existing bed.
Prepare rooms and beds
- In Create room, enter name, offered room type, capacity and description.
- With positive capacity, complete automatic/manual bed preparation in step two. Review prefix/start number for automatic beds or the manual list.
- Save and inspect the beds actually created. Later, Add bed is available in an active room with remaining capacity.
- Review room/bed name, type and state in editing. Do not mark an occupied bed available.
- Read patient linkage and confirmation before deletion/deactivation; do not remove placement to bypass capacity errors.
| Bed state | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Available | Assignment candidate; current availability is rechecked when saving |
| Occupied | Open linked patient/stay information |
| Maintenance | Complete the eligible availability path before placement |
Place a patient
- Open assignment from an available bed.
- Select patient and check any active stay. If new admission is offered, complete hospitalization information.
- Review start time and visible fee/service choices, then save.
- Verify the same patient/room/bed in board and stay detail.
Move through the current stay's permitted transfer path rather than creating a parallel stay. Refresh availability if someone else took the bed. Check discharge in both stay and bed state; hiding a patient card is not discharge.
Example: a capacity-four room with three created beds still needs an available bed for a fourth placement. Review charges in hospitalization and care in treatment.
