Anesthesia records and stage tracking

Track protocol, stages, vital records, and administered drugs.

Platform · Last verified:

Anesthesia details collect protocol, stages, vitals, drugs, and notes. These are software recording steps; the veterinarian chooses the clinical protocol.

Create a record

Open Create Anesthesia from the list. Verify patient, related surgery, veterinarian, and initial information. Details provide Protocol, Vital Records, Administered Drugs, and Additional Notes.

Track stages

Follow planning, induction, maintenance, recovery, and completion in order. Use the eligible action and verify the resulting time/state. Cancellation, completion, and ordinary field editing differ.

If consent/missing-document warnings appear, review the related document. Advancing a stage does not prove all measurements or signatures exist.

Vitals and logs

Check patient, measurement date, and unit when using the offered log/vital creation or linking actions. Linking an existing measurement differs from creating a new one. Reopen the linked detail to verify relationships.

Drug records and stock

In Add Drug, check product, actual dose/amount, unit, and administration time. When deduction is enabled, check source and unit compatibility; do not assume a general medical dose conversion.

There is no direct update action for a saved drug row's quantity, product, or unit. Use the permitted Delete action for the incorrect row; if stock was deducted, deletion creates its reversal. Check the current stock result, then use Add Drug to create the correct record. Deleting the entire anesthesia record does not replace this correction.

Complete and verify

Review stages, latest measurements, and drugs before completion. New drug operations may be unavailable on terminal records. On warnings/conflicts, reload the canonical record.

For Kaju, verify an actual drug record with product, amount/unit, and time, rather than leaving administration only in a note. Review care and sale/cost records separately.

Protocol, clinician and measurement fields

Check patient, optional surgery, responsible clinician, plan and offered risk/protocol fields in creation or Protocol. Independent anesthesia does not require a surgery link. Clinician selection uses active medical staff; a historical clinician may remain displayed without being selectable.

RecordCheck
VitalsPulse, respiration, SpO2, EtCO2, systolic/diastolic pressure, temperature/unit
Anesthesia findingsOffered depth, jaw tone, eye position, reflexes and notes
DrugName/time; optional product, dosage/unit, route, stock deduction and notes
LogActual event time/description; a drug note is not a drug row

Enter actual measurement time; linking existing and creating new measurements differ. Drug-table order is not a phase sequence; inspect administration time.

Planned → induction → maintenance → recovery → completed proceeds in order. Cancellation is separate during live stages; completed/cancelled has no normal next transition. After missing-data/conflict errors, inspect the actual stage and persisted rows.
