Create and resolve clinical orders
Track laboratory/imaging orders by execution, results and payment.
Platform · Last verified:
Use Objective → Diagnostics → New order in examination or Cortex Orders. Some mobile entries say Request test; this guide covers Platform. An order, diagnostic result and sale item are distinct records.
Create
- Verify patient and optional examination context.
- Select Laboratory or Imaging and add requested services.
- Check requesting clinician, assignee, routine/urgent priority and notes.
- Complete additional information for in-house, external or device execution. Review offered imaging modality/body-part fields.
- Read whether commercial linkage creates a new service, reuses an existing sale line or has no charge link; avoid duplicate billing.
- Save and open order detail.
Progress and link results
Eligible claim/assign/start actions change ownership and work state. Adding a result, selecting existing study and confirming it are separate steps. Verify patient/examination, study/version and relation.
| State | Check |
|---|---|
| Pending | Assignment/execution is incomplete |
| In progress | Follow the related result/study |
| Review required | Resolve pending correction or incomplete-result conditions |
| Completed | Check current result and confirmation |
| Cancelled | Read reason and linked financial effects separately |
Primary, additional, correction and repeat results are different relations. A historical diagnostic opened from signed SOAP may be pinned; never replace it with current content. Review late-after-signature warnings through the examination's correction path.
Payment and recovery
Open the linked sale from the payment card; completed work does not prove payment. Cancellation/result correction may report financial correction. After interrupted creation, inspect current orders; do not resubmit when already-saved feedback appears.
Example: for Luna's lab service, inspect result, confirmation and sale payment separately. Diagnostic results, SOAP.
