Stock units, prices, and collections
Interpret packages, base units, costs, tax-inclusive prices, and customer balances.
Platform · Last verified:
The same product/customer can appear with different measures in stock and finance. Check units, tax basis, and currency before an operation.
Products, batches, and opened packages
A product is a catalog record. An inventory batch describes stock at a lot/expiry/location. One product can have several inventory rows. An opened package tracks remaining base units separately from closed packages.
A 100 ml product may have one closed bottle and 20 ml remaining in an opened bottle. Do not add “1 package + 20 ml” as 21 items. Zero closed packages can coexist with usable opened stock.
Check product, quantity, unit, and source together. Package quantities differ from ml/tablet base units. Use supported unit selections; mg and ml are not interchangeable.
Cost and selling price
Cost describes the clinic's acquisition/stock cost. Selling price describes the customer's charge. Package price, base-unit price, and any administration/service fee are separate. Viewing a product does not make those prices identical.
Read tax-inclusive/exclusive labels and review the cart's unit, quantity, and tax-inclusive total. Do not combine different currencies into one monetary total.
Discount and tax example
In a synthetic TRY example, a tax-inclusive unit price of 120 TL and quantity 3 gives 360 TL gross. A 10% line discount removes 36 TL, leaving 324 TL gross. At the example's 20% tax rate, the final net amount is 270 TL and tax is 54 TL. Use the actual record's rate.
Check unit rounding, quantity, line discount, and sale-wide discount separately. Discounts change the sale amount; payments settle obligations. Verify persisted sale/account results.
Sales, collections, advances, and balances
| Concept | Use |
|---|---|
| Sale | Product/service and amount record |
| Sale payment | Money received for a sale |
| Customer collection | Amount allocated across outstanding records |
| Outstanding balance/debt | Amount still to be covered |
| Customer balance/advance | Available credit or previously received money |
| Return | Item-based or amount-based reversal |
Collections can show new money, existing credit usage, and discount separately. Review allocation summaries. Using an earlier advance does not prove the same amount of new cash was received today.
Item-based and amount-based returns differ. Amount-only returns do not change stock quantity. See returns.
