Sale payments, method changes and reversal

Record received money and distinguish commercial returns from payment reversal.

Platform · Last verified:

Use payment/history in a specific sale's detail. Collection is the separate path for multiple customer debts.

Add payment

  1. Read sale, customer and remaining due.
  2. Enter actual received amount, method, date and offered extra information.
  3. Compare partial payment with the remainder. Customer-credit use is not new cash.
  4. After confirmation/save, inspect payment history and current sale debt.

Example: receiving 300 against 500 leaves 200 without other discounts/credit. Match card/cash/bank to the physical transaction; a software record does not prove external transfer.

Incorrect payment or method

Open eligible Reverse on a standalone payment and review amount/effect and requested reason. Change method is separate and requires a reason; it does not reapply sale items.

A settlement/account-adjustment-owned row cannot be reversed as a standalone payment. Use the originating collection or account movement.

Verify

Payment reversal does not reduce gross sale value; it can reopen debt. Removing the last active payment can change stock/planning, while credit-sale commitment differs. Read current sale/movements. Returned goods/value use commercial returns.

After an uncertain response, inspect history before continuing the same payment intent. Do not compensate for a lost response by adding another payment.
