SOAP assistants and dictation

Writer review, Analyzer output, epicrisis and voice-to-text entry.

AI assistants within an examination have different purposes. Available actions depend on record state, examination type, access and allowance. Open the correct patient and examination first. See SOAP lifecycle.

SOAP Writer

Writer prepares field suggestions from your clinical description. Use Write or the Writer entry for the relevant stage, with microphone input where supported. Review each field and accept or reject its suggestion.

Pending review may restrict autosave or other field actions. Returning to the page can restore a pending review; never accept another patient's result. Use recovery/retry for incomplete output. Writing Plan text does not itself create a separate treatment plan or administer medication.

In VetConnect, generation can continue after closing its working sheet; return to the same examination for review. Text suggestions may be corrected before apply, while structured/conflicting values do not use that editor. Do not reapply successful channels after partial completion. Inspect the examination after uncertainty; clinical fields may already be saved even when recording the review decision fails.

SOAP Analyzer

Analyzer helps evaluate entered clinical data. Complete missing history, findings and measurements first. Compare output with the evidence; a suggested diagnosis is not a clinician-confirmed diagnosis. Some examination types do not expose Analyzer.

Inspect assessment output and its limitations after completion. Do not assume an old analysis remains correct after a patient/context change or new findings.

Epicrisis

Epicrisis helps prepare a narrative examination summary. Launch it from the relevant examination's Veti entry and verify the text. Eligible results offer PDF/output actions; check patient, performing clinic, date and diagnostic annexes.

An AI summary does not replace the record. Preparing a PDF and sharing it with the owner are separate operations. See files and reports.

Text improvement

Open improvement for a supported field and check current text/target. Compare the suggestion with the original: preserve numbers, units, medication names and negative findings. Accepted text uses that form's save/autosave path; it creates no signature, administration or sale by itself. Do not apply an old suggestion after patient/field changes.

Dictation and voice

Dictation converts speech into a supported text field. Grant microphone permission, check language and wait for provisional text to finalize. Carefully review numbers, units, drug names and negative findings. Stopping the microphone does not sign the examination; verify the save step.

Dictation and live voice conversation are different features. Live conversation is not necessarily enabled for every environment or user. Do not follow steps for a control that is absent. If chat has no visible attachment control, do not assume uploads are supported there; use clinical file workflows. See Veti troubleshooting.
