Photo and screen handoff
Capture phone photos, continue on the computer and understand nearby-device conditions.
Platform · Last verified:
Handoff opens authorized work in another client; it grants no role or clinic access. Photo upload, screen opening and nearby transfer are separate operations.
Platform to phone capture
Use phone capture in invoice, Cortex OCR, File Manager, prescription or clinic task. Check a VetConnect target signed in as the same user/clinic. Open its request and verify camera access and patient context.
Invoice uses one photo; this File Manager handoff permits up to four files and clinic tasks up to five eligible photos. Prescription/diagnostic paths retain their own rules. Wait for uploads; retry the same failed queue item. Complete and verify files in the Platform draft. Capture completion does not import invoice stock, administer a prescription or complete a task.
Continue a mobile screen on the computer
For supported motion-triggered VetConnect handoff, check Platform target/session and clinic. Open sheets, dirty forms or busy operations can block it. Resolve save/discard first. Continuing on the same page does not imply every local draft transfers. Verify target record, filters/day and fields.
Nearby transfer
Supported VetConnect devices/versions require foreground use and explicit Enable. Check the general nearby preference and Bluetooth/OS permissions. Both devices need appropriate user/clinic access and open applications. Backgrounding, radio loss or account changes may end the session.
Approaching alone is not completion; verify the current record opens at the receiver. Do not assume unsupported files, screenshots or unsaved text transfer.
Recovery and example
Request a harmless image from a test patient's file entry, capture it and verify the same Platform draft. Stop on wrong clinic/account. After expiry/disconnect, inspect the existing request/queue outcome instead of reuploading successful content. Nearby/motion acceptance needs actual devices.
